Impure Ascii started out for real in 1998. Before 1998,
more to be correct, back in 1996 all the asciis were
released in our bi-monthly artpacks called WOE CHRONICLES.
But something happened in 1998, we had an agreement
with tG! (tEEGE) that we would split up our ascii artists
into a new group which would be considered as an ascii
division of WOE.
We merged woe's ascii division with Gel and tG! was
put to run the group as best as he could. Props to tG!
for doing an awesome job, but just after 2 releases,
the dear Impure leader quitted the scene and all the
members didn't know were to go. We had to think again.
After some thinking we thought whata heck, we can't
let Impure die, its suchs a great group already, so
the founder of woe (pogue) meet up with xzip and fount
out that its not that hard to run a group. So both agreed
on beeing leaders of Impure, and to this day, both are
taking their leader responsibility and running Impure
as an oldschool ascii group only. Despite that Impure
in the beginning both had oldschool and newschool, but
after looking at the scene, more and more people didn't
do much oldschool, and xzip beeing an amiga god, we
went with a oldschool only ascii group.
In the beginning we were a european ascii group only,
since there is alot of european ascii artists out there,
doing great work. And some of those were in our group.
But after 2000/2001, we are accepting every nation,
not just europeans. Still to this day, we only do oldschool
tho.
Impure Ascii 1940 are releasing monthly since 2001,
and in our ascii packs you will find individually ascii's
and ascii collies. Impure is one of the leading asciigroups
in 2001 and its possible to download our packs from
both PC and Amiga BBS's in europe and iguess worldwide
too(?).
